Un petit DIY beauté d’une recette que j’aime tout particulièrement et que j’ai adoptée depuis un petit moment maintenant. C’est rapide, pratique, écologique, économique, tout ce que j’aime : le gel de lin maison 😊
Utilisations et bienfaits :
Les graines de lin sont une source d’acide alpha-linolénique, de la famille des oméga 3. Leurs bien faits dans l’alimentation ne sont plus à prouver. Mais pas que, elles peuvent être utilisées pour confectionner un gel riche pour la peau et les cheveux.
Propriétés du gel de lin :
Hydrate et adoucit la peau et les cheveux
Définit les boucles et fait briller les cheveux
Raffermit la peau
Utilisations :
– En soin après lavage en guise de gel coiffant pour modeler et structures les boucles en scrunchant.
– En masque cheveux avant lavage, quelques idées ici
– L’intégrer à un spray hydratant cheveux maison
– En tant qu’actif hydratant dans des masques cheveux/henné (j’en mets une cuillère à soupe) ou même dans des masques visage
On en trouve très facilement en magasin bio. J’avais acheté les miennes sur boutique beauté bien-être ici.
Matériel :
- un bas
- une casserole
- deux baguettes chinoises ou deux cuillères en bois
Pour une quantité de 200 ml :
- 1/2 verre de graines de lin (équivaut à 100 g), ici ils s’agit de graines brunes mais on peut également utiliser les blondes
- 2 verres d’eau (équivaut à 450 g)
On peut bien sûr modifier les doses en fonction de la texture que l’on souhaite : mettre plus d’eau si on veut une texture plus fluide, ou en mettre moins si on veut une texture plus épaisse.
Étapes :
– Dans une casserole, verser l’eau et les graines de lin, porter le tout à ébullition. Une mousse va se former. Laisser 3 minutes sur le feu en ébullition (pas plus pour ne pas que la préparation ne devienne trop collante et inutilisable, j’ai gâché plusieurs préparations avant de comprendre ça 🤣)
– Filtrer à l’aide d’un bas et presser avec des baguettes chinoises (deux manches de cuillères en bois peuvent également faire l’affaire), de façon a récupérer le maximum de gel. Mieux vaut filtrer lorsque c’est encore chaud, cela sera plus facile. C’est la méthode la plus efficace que j’ai trouvée.
Avec une petite passoire c’était trop compliqué et difficile (voir impossible) à filtrer. J’ai également essayé de mettre les graines dans une boule à thé dans l’eau bouillante mais le gel ne se diffuse absolument pas 👎
– On peut réutiliser les graines et refaire une deuxième tournée tout de suite ou les congeler pour en refaire plus tard (on peut les réutiliser 2 à 3 fois).
– Mettre dans un bocal propre et sec.
Conservation :
La préparation se conserve 1 à 2 semaines. On peut allonger la durée de conservation en ajoutant 12 gouttes de conservateur cosgard (conservateur de préparations contenant une phase aqueuse), soit l’équivalent de 0.6 % de la préparation, on pourra alors le conserver environ un mois.
S’il y a une mauvaise odeur ou une odeur inhabituelle, la préparation n’est plus bonne.
Petit hic, mais indispensable : le gel de lin est à conserver au frigo.
Mon avis sur le gel de lin maison :
Une petite quantité suffit, on peut largement diviser les doses. La prochaine fois, j’essayerais d’en congeler afin de voir comment il se conserve et s’il est réutilisable.
Je suis très satisfaite du rendu sur mes cheveux et de la texture. Il tient bien mais la fixation n’est pas extrême non plus.
J’avais essayé le gel d’aloe vera pur pour modeler mes boucles mais ça ne m’a pas convaincue : trop léger et pas assez modelant.
Le gel de lin est une excellente alternative, moi qui utilisais des mousses/gel bien chimiques 😝 Il suffit de trouver le bon dosage adapté à ses cheveux.
Par contre, si l’on part en voyage, d’un point de vue conservation, ce n’est pas pratique. Il faut un frigo à portée de main, mais ce n’est pas toujours le cas. Et, il faut penser à prévoir la quantité nécessaire, le gel aura de grandes chances de tourner si l’on part longtemps.
Pour 1.4€ les 100 g sur le site Boutique beauté bien-être, autant dire qu’en plus d’être écologique et zéro déchet, ce gel de lin est économique.
On peut aussi réaliser du gel de lin à froid, uniquement en laissant macérer les graines dans l’eau, mais vu les piètres avis je ne me suis pas lancée.
EDIT : j’ai essayé et je suis plutôt satisfaite !
Gel de lin à froid + test de congélation
J’ai mis dans un verre : 10 g de graines pour 45 g d’eau soit 1 volume de graine pour 4.5 d’eau. J’ai laissé le tout au frigo pendant 18 heures, en veillant bien à remuer quelques fois. Au fur et à mesure des heures, la préparation s’est épaissie.
C’est une petite quantité, mais je n’ai pas voulu en faire beaucoup étant donné qu’il ne se conserve pas longtemps et qu’il s’agissait d’un test.
Comme pour le gel de lin à chaud, j’ai pressé avec un bas/collant pour extraire le gel. Il est difficile de tout bien extraire mais j’ai congelé les graines pour une seconde utilisation. Niveau texture et épaisseur je n’ai pas remarqué une grande différence avec la version à chaud.
Cette version nécessite moins de manipulation qu’à chaud donc peut parfaitement convenir lorsque l’on n’est pas chez soi d’autant que cela génère peu de vaisselle.
J’ai ensuite voulu congeler le gel : cette quantité équivaut à 2 glaçons à congeler. Lorsque j’ai voulu m’en servir, je les ai mis dans un petit bol pour qu’ils décongèlent (1 à 2 heures avant de me laver les cheveux). Il n’y avait pas d’odeur et la texture était la même. J’ai donc trouvé la solution pour les jours de flemme ou éviter le gâchis si j’en fais trop et je suis ravie !
Application
Je l’applique sur cheveux humides. Certaines scellent l’hydratation du gel de lin en appliquant ensuite quelques gouttes d’huile végétale mais mes cheveux n’en ressentent pas le besoin. Voici le résultat :

Oui je suis adepte, par contre je laissais cuire beaucoup plus longtemps et à force de me brûler les doigts pour filtrer je suis passée au gel à froid.
Le gel est beaucoup moins épais mais comme je le pulvérise dilué ce n’est pas un problème, cela réduit l’effet carton. J’utilise les mêmes graines plusieurs fois jusqu’à ce qu’elles ne produise plus de gel, et je congèle, dans le pulvérisateur j’ajoute le conservateur.
Je laissais cuire plus longtemps aussi mais ça me gâchais la préparation lol mais il faudrait vraiment que je teste le gel à froid pour me faire mon avis. J’ai peur que s’il est plus fluide il structure moins mes boucles, à tester. Merci pour le commentaire 🙂

Pour ce qui est du conservateur, j’imagine que c’est l’EPP (extrait de pépin de pamplemousse), un conservateur naturel dans les préparations avec phase aqueuse.

Bonjour ! Un grand merci pour cette découverte géniale! J’utilise la méthode à froid, je mélange de temps en tant, une passoire et une cuillère une fois la consistance désirée obtenue ( Blanc d’œuf disons est ce qui me convient le mieux ) et j’en fais des glaçons. Je sors un glaçon au moment du shampoing et je masse les longueurs avec le glaçon qui fond entre les mains. Cela rafraîchis les cheveux pour éviter la déshydratation et facilite l’application sur toutes la longueur des mèches. Pas de conservateur et une efficacité impressionnante niveau démêlage et douceur. Même les jours suivants, alors que les cheveux sont secs ils restent doux et démêlés. Je constate moins de frisottis. Ils bouclent joliment avec les techniques de scruntch et autres astuces, mais ondule joliment aussi en les tirants avec le peigne. Produit miraculeux. Encore merci pour ces recettes
